i would limit production on 4x4s and excessively juicy motors, just a quicker way to fuck the planet, offer car share schemes & have a full integrated transport policy, uber cheap rail options for all...were a small over polluted world, the futures so far up in smoke, so whats the plan guys, whats the bigger picture here? Bio Diesel and limiting your consumption of resources 4 a start. |

Twats also eat food. Maybe shops should stop selling food and then all of the twats would die! My point is that just because a small number of people that do something are twats, that doesn't mean that it's fair to stop everyone else from doing it. If you want your cost of living to go up, then I'll be happy to take some money off your hands _________________ MSN: gav@ukb.org.uk AIM: UKBassRadio ...Catch my show every wednesday from 8-9PM GMT... |

Electrifying the motorways wouldn't be too hard and would be a good start. The railways have overhead electric cables, doing the same on the major motorways would allow electric buses and lorries to operate, vastly saving on fuel and pollution. The vehicles would have a battery for short stints off the cable, and a normal engine for non-motorway driving. It is ABSOLUTELY correct that we need effective, cheap and clean public transport. Fares have been rising far above the rate of inflation, with service cuts as well in most areas outside London. It is a bit rich to implore people not to drive without them having any alternative. Biodiesel is a complicated issue as at the moment it uses up resources that could be used for food, in part causing the recent increases in food prices. It does however need further research, as technology involving oil-producing algae looks promising. Long term electric or hydrogen vehicles are the answer. Public transport at its best is only really useful for certain predictable journies in big cities, so we will need cars (however they are powered) for a very long time yet. What is absolutely NOT fair or right is taxing millions of ordinary people for trying to get to work. Several years ago, it was reported that lower-paid working families spend around a quarter of their income on essential motoring. How much are they spending now? Fuel duty, although a useful tax for controlling oil consumption is still massively too high considering the current mraket price of oil, and is causing real pain to people who due to poor government policy have no real alternative. |

In a modern open-market capitalist society, entrepreneurs get rich and the poor get better off as a result -- OF COURSE they're not going to get as rich as fast (duh). So, of course the gap thereby gets wider - but the top AND BOTTOM of the gap both rise to levels much higher than before. The gap is widening?? Well, hooray for everyone’s sake! ESPECIALLY the poor!

If the rich weren’t free to "get ever richer," developing or investing in ever-increasing productivity, the poor would NEVER have any chance to improve their conditions at all, let alone to obtain their ever-increasing access to the latest tools of that expanding productivity, making every hour of their labor ever-more valuable. And YOU wouldn't EVER have the chance to read this or anything else brought to you by advanced technology. source: http://www.freedomkeys.com Absolutely spot on _________________ MSN: gav@ukb.org.uk AIM: UKBassRadio ...Catch my show every wednesday from 8-9PM GMT... |
